The golden rat tail cactus is a branching cactus that can grow stems of up to 1 meter long.   The stems are covered with bristly spines.

The mature plants  produce beautiful coral-coloured flowers during Spring and Summer months.

Golden Rat tails like bright full sun and well-draining soil.

Golden rat tails can be watered in the Spring and Summer when the first few inches of the top soil is dry.  During the winter months or wet season, you can reduce watering to every 3-5 weeks.  

Fertilize once per year in Spring using a slow-release fertilizer.
