Pothos is a very common climbing houseplant  and great for beginners as it is very easy to grow and care for.  It grows wild in many tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world.

It is an extremely resilient plant and is very difficult to kill, making it  a perfect starter plant. 

It produces wonderful heart-shaped leaves that can grow  up to 100cm long by 45cm wide.

In the wild, pothos can grow to over 20 meters in length.

Pothos adapt to many lighting conditions, including low light.  Avoid direct sunlight.

Pothos can easily be propagated by taking a clipping of a stem from the mother plant and placing it in water or dry soil until it develops roots.  Pothos can be kept in water (change water every week ) or can be potted using a regular potting soil mix. Pothos grown in water will not adapt  so well to soil if potted and pothos that are propagated in soil will not do well in water  if they have been kept in the original medium for long periods of time.

When grown in soil, pothos should be watered regularly as the soil begins to dry out (about once per week).

Pothos are mildly toxic to pets and children if ingested.
