CALATHEA  ZEBRINA
Zebra Prayer Plant

Calathea Zebrinas are native to Southeastern Brazil.  They can grow up to 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide.  The leaves can reach lengths of 2 feet.

This plant produces tiny white flowers that are almost unnoticeable.

Calathea Zebrina likes soil that drains easily and holds some moisture.  Don't overwater the plant as this can cause root rot.    Keep soil moist, but not wet.

Calathea Zebrinas love humid environments.  Spraying the leaves every few days will keep your plant happy. If your home is very dry, you can always maintain moisture levels by sitting the plant on a tray of wet pebbles.   Brown edges on leaves are a sign that your plant needs more humidity.

This plant grows naturally in the undercover of trees in the tropical forest.  Calathea Zebrinas do not require much light to thrive. Low to Medium indirect light or diffused light is sufficient. Brighter light will bring out the lovely green colours in  the foliage, however any direct light should be avoided.

These plants do not like beingroot bound, therefore, your plant will need to be repotted aproximately every 2 years.

Non-toxic to cats and dogs
