MONSTERA DELICIOSA
Monstera/ Swiss Cheese Plant/ Ceriman

The Monstera Deliciosa is a flowering tropical plant that is native to Central America and Southern parts of Mexico.

The monstera deliciosa can adapt to several lighting conditions, therefore making it a great plant for indoors. While it can tolerate low light, it will grow faster in bright - moderate indirect light. Young plants are more susceptible to harsh sunlight. Older plants can tolerate direct sunlight much better.

This plant produces a corncob-shaped fruit that is very delicious and tropical tasting. All other parts of the plant are toxic and eating the fruit before it is ripe can cause some mouth irritation.

Monsteras like water. Make sure to water thoroughly every one to two weeks, keeping the soil slightly moist but not wet.

Use a well-draining, nutrient-rich potting soil mix for this plant. Repot every 1-2 years. The monstera deliciosa can grow quite large, therefore it is important to place it in a spacious area.

Fertilize your monstera once per month using a diluted liquid fertilizer.

Toxic to pets and humans. Only the ripe fruit is edible.
