We are kicking off 2020 with a beautiful tropical plant for our for pick of the month. We can't think of a more tropical looking plant for our collection! A plant that is easy to care for and has striking markings across its broad leaves. January's plant pick is the gorgeous Caladium lindenii. Caladium lindenii are native to Colombia and have striking, large green leaves with accentuated white veination. It's another fantastic variegated plant species that gets a lot of comments in our boutique. They are also known by the name 'angel's wing' or 'magnificent wing'.

Caladium lindenii does well either indoors with filtered light or in semi shaded outdoor spaces. The ones we have in stock are loving the 'medium to medium+ light' sections of our store, out of the direct path of any air conditioning. If the plant shows any sign of stretching out, or not growing full, place it in a location with more natural light. These plants do even better in hot, humid, semi-shaded locations outdoors and also make a great patio plant.

The plants for sale are 'medium' which is still quite a decent size, with a height of approximately 50-60 cm and given the right conditions will continue to grow bigger, taller and more full fairly quickly. Growing out a large plant or grouping 2-3 together is a great way to make a bold, tropical statement to any section of your home or patio.
