La exótica y colorida 'Red Maranta' es nuestra planta del mes de noviembre.

Esto también se conoce como Herringbone Maranta y es un miembro de la familia Prayer Plant. Las hojas son muy sensibles a la luz y por la noche se levantan de manera espectacular. La maranta roja tiene venas y tallos rojos muy notables, verde claro en el centro de la hoja y negro a verde oscuro en los bordes exteriores de la hoja. La parte inferior de las hojas es de color burdeos.

Las plantas de oración pueden ser difíciles de cultivar, pero las marantas son algo más fáciles que la mayoría de las calatheas. Proporcione un ambiente húmedo y rocíe regularmente para ayudar a su maranta a alcanzar su potencial. Estas son plantas excelentes para nuestro clima tropical.

PLANT OF THE MONTH FOR NOVEMBER: MARANTA LEUCONEURA 'ERYTHRONEURA'

The exotic and colourful ‘Red Maranta’ is our plant of the month for November.

This is also known as the Herringbone Maranta and is a member of the Prayer Plant family. The leaves are very light sensitive and at night will lift upwards in a dramatic fashion. The Red maranta has very noticeable red veins and stems, light green in the center of the leaf and black through dark green on the outer edges of the leaf. The bottom of the leaves are a burgundy color.

Prayer plants can be difficult to grow but the marantas are somewhat easier than most calatheas. Provide a humid environment and mist regularly to help your maranta reach it’s potential. These are great plants for our tropical weather.
